(5) Whether either of the two Phantom III. matrices with .005 and .003 airway strips which you sent us recently had untinned airway strip - if so, which?

(6) Whether you have ever supplied us with a matrix with untinned airway strip - if so, which.?

(7) How soon you could supply us with a standard Bentley core constructed with untinned .004" airway strip.

(8) Whether you can give us any test figures for
(a) 58 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Mk.V. cores.
(b) 84 m/m Mk.VI. cores.

which prove that no loss of dissipation is incurred by omitting tinning of the airway strip - we have some figures here taken by yourselves on an 84 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Mk.V. block which shows approximately 9% increase in dissipation with tinned as against untinned strip.!

(9) What would be the effect on the current prices of our cores if these were ordered by 1000 at a time instead of the present 200.?

We are sorry if this letter appears to be becoming a questionnaire, but it seems to be the best way to get the job straight. If you could give us a tabulated answer to all the above queries at an early date, we should be very grateful.

Hoping that we shall be able to discuss your American matrix comparisons in the near future,

We are,

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
