X4080 EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/C6/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 27.9.24. 20 HP & 40/50 HP. LIFTING JACKS FOR BALLOON TYRES. ------------------------------------------------ In reply to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/8/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 25.9.24. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has already investigated the question of suitable Jacks for use with balloon tyres, and he considers that the Michelin is unsuitable because the lift is not sufficient. He has also tried a new Dunlop Jack which appears to meet our requirements providing the Dunlop Company will increase the height of Jack by 1¾". This matter has been taken up with the Dunlop Company and we hope to hear from them very shortly as to when they will be able to deliver Jacks modified as above. In regard to the 20 HP. chassis, we have ordered a set of wheels for balloon tyres and on receipt of same Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will then look into the Jack question for this type of chassis.
