For the attention of Mr.C.W.Nichols.

Dear Sir,

On Mr.E.R.Hall's Bentley for the Ulster T.T. race we are fitting a special 26 gallon petrol tank. We have made the tank which is now ready for fitting to the car, we have also calibrated the gauge you have sent to us for this tank, and we are returning to you by post to night the petrol gauge dual marked, with a small tracing showing the calibration we have determined.

Will you kindly have this petrol gauge dial properly marked and returned to us today Saturday 21st instant by post without fail as we definitely require this car to be running on Monday next 23rd instant. I am sending this request to you personally so that you can get this through for us as quickly as possible.

You will note that we have pricked out the calibrated markings on the face of the meter. The points marked are every two gallons and we require them to be marked every four gallons. The reserve should be specially marked with a red 'R', i.e. two gallons up the scale.

Yours faithfuyll,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
