Dear Bill,

Many thanks for your letter of the 22nd and for your telegram. I will arrange to send the car over on Monday, 30th, and I hope to be able to send our head fitter with it. He will be perfectly capable of doing the job if you can provide someone to tell him what to do.

There is also the question of an oil leak on the water pump drive, and while we are about it I am not very happy about the oil consumption. It appears to be consuming an awful lot, and I notice that when the oil level indicator shows about half full, if I have to stop suddenly I have no oil pressure for about half a minute. I am rather surprised that this should happen when the sump is half full, and I am wondering whether anything has happened to the baffle plates in the sump.

I much appreciate your kind assistance in this matter, which will be very helpful, as the car is now only used for business purposes, and does enable me to get about from one place to another at a reasonable speed, although with considerable discomfort.

Yours,
Richard.
