PHANTOM 2. SUBFRAME.
BRAKE DRUM CLEARANCE.

With reference to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/THN2/H101229., and the report of Mr. Goose, we are adopting the attitude that the clearances which you, as Exp. Dept., have given us as satisfactory, are those we shall work to. We do not therefore propose to agree to Mr. Goose's suggestions unless we hear from you to the effect that you have reconsidered your recommendations.

Personally we think we should be told to build cars to our clearances, and then report to us if there is any trouble on the road.

The rolling test can give very erroneous results. We have found that out on Phantom 2.
