1181. 30th April 1937. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}18/AP. The British Belting & Asbestos Co., Scandinavia Mills, CLECKHEATON. For the attention of Mr.Sisman Dear Sirs, We have tried your 'Halo III' brake lining on a rig. We always do this with a new lining before putting it on a motor car. From the outset, even before it was bedded, it squeaked in the most astonishing way and so we are not going to try it on a car. We will try the 'Halo V' in due course on the rig. May we mention that there is no quality number stencilled on the linings you sent or written on the labels, only the 'Halo', and this under certain circumstances might have been confusing. *word Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
