Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,
Attention: W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.
Research Engineer.

We have received a report from our Technical Engineer, Mr. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} W. Irving, regarding the recent interview he had with your Mr. Grille who has requested us to confirm information in connection with the manufacture of Champion Plugs in our English Factory. He has advised that this information is required prior to any decision you might be considering to fit Champion Plugs as original equipment on certain or all of your engines for car production.

It is our understanding that a series of tests have been carried out for several months on our Type N.8 for Rolls Royce and LB.8 for Rolls Bentley engines, and that these have proved technically satisfactory for your requirements.

First, you will no doubt be interested to know that the Air Ministry and the War Office have altered their specification, by which the Champion Sparking Plug Company are now able to tender for their plug requirements, and recently we have received orders from both departments running into thousands of plugs. We can submit copies of this specification should you be interested in same. However, prior to these alterations being made, Government officials visited our plant and satisfied themselves that our product was British, the quality was satisfactory and our production methods were such that we could, without question, meet their demands.

We are particularly interested in having confirmation from you that our Types N.8 and LB.8, which we are supplying to your Experimental Department, are meeting with your entire satisfaction and as soon as we have this, it is our intention to produce sufficient stocks to be in a position to service your requirements. We would also like to list these types in our recommendation charts.
