Copy of letter from:- VLIES & BENSON LTD., 1, Brazennose Street, Manchester. 22nd February, 1928. Ref.- FW/MW. Your ref.- WD {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 3/NJ16228. For attention of Mr.J.P.Whitehead. Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, Re Stroborama. We now beg to express our gratification for the opportunity we had on Saturday morning last, 18th inst. of demonstrating to your Mr.J.P.Whitehead, the merits of the Stroborama Tele-Tachometer type "P", as also Stroborama type "A". We hope that this demonstration proved conclusively the outstanding merits of the Stroborama as against the Oscilloscope which we understand to be already in your possession; not only is the illumination of the Stroborama of the order of 1000 c.p. sufficient to allow examinations to be carried out in full day-light or artificial light, thus eliminating the necessity for complete or partial obscurity, but also the Stroborama is supplied from the electric light circuit (95 to 240 volts direct or alternating in the case of the Stroborama Tele-Tachometer type "P", and alternating current only 110 or 220 volts in the case of Stroborama type "A") to the exclusion of accumulators and the troubles arising therefrom. With Stroborama type "A", independent synchronisation can be obtained, or alternatively, positive means of synchronising from the object under examination can be furnished. We do not intend further to labour the matter at present, but trust that when you have any problem, the solution of which will be facilitated by examination by the aid of a stroboscopic instrument, you will recollect the outstanding advantages to be derived from the instrument which we had the privilege of demonstrating to your Mr.Whitehead. Meanwhile we remain, Yours faithfully, VLIES & BENSON LTD. (Sgd) Frank Ware. Director. | ||
