We are very much inclined to think that the question of provision of a double ball bearing thrust behind the bevel pinion is really a feature which we should provide for as soon as possible, and I am certainly of the opinion that we should try and push forward this scheme for consideration as it seems to me that if we were to climb a steep hill backward on a car fitted with the spiral bevels we would be very liable to seize up on the plain thrust, although I must agree that on normal running no trouble is likely to occur.
