Enamelling of Road Wheels. I confirm mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}5/NJ13.3.25. I have just had a 'phone message from the Dunlop Rubber Co. stating that they are despatching to us today:- 40/50 6 - 32 x 4 1/2 S/S. E.5 Detachable Wire Wheels, Nickel finish, 3 of which have been enamelled by them and 3 left for us to enamel. 20 H.P. 6 - 32 x 4 1/2 S/S. E.2 Detachable Wire Wheels, Nickel finish, 3 of which have been enamelled by them and 3 left for us to enamel. Perhaps HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} will be good enough to instruct Stores what must be done with these wheels on arrival; unfortunately AW. is absent through illness. The Dunlop Rubber Co. have still to send us:- 6 - 32 x 4 1/2 S/S. Steel Artillery Wheels for 40/50 HP.Chassis 6 - 32 x 4 1/2 S/S. " " " " 20 HP.Chassis 3 of each enamelled by them and 3 of each left for us to enamel. It will be some little time before these wheels are available, for reasons known to you. In view of By's verbal agreement on 16.3.25, I have given instructions that an order is to be sent to the Dunlop Rubber Co. for the 24 wheels we require to carry out these tests, the conditions being that after the tests are completed the cost of reconditioning the wheels should be borne by the party whose contention is proved incorrect.
