1263 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}5/MH.{M. Huckerby} 30th. March, 1939. The S.U. Carburetter Co. Ltd., Adderley Park, BIRMINGHAM, 8. For the attention of Mr. Cooper. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of 28th. March, with regard to the 350 pumps on order, these pumps are to be supplied to your specification PP19/L similar to the last six supplied with the S.U. contact breaker and not the R.R. type. We are arranging to supply you with a drawing of the complete pump. As the pump is to be supplied in pieces for assembly, the plug DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}2114 will not be required. We do, however, require that the thread for the union should be 3/8" 20 and not 3/8", to keep our parts interchangeable. We understand this is the existing thread on the pumps now supplied and that you have the required dies. We realise that this does differ from your standard double body but hope that this alteration will not necessitate any change in the die casting. The only other point that we should like altered is that no earthing terminals are provided, and that these are replaced by 2.B.A. screws as they tend to interfere with the water excluding sleeve we fit to the pump. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
