Report upon Twisted Propellor Shaft off Mr. Kenneth M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Clarke's R.R. Car.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

After careful examination of this shaft we find it is twisted about 135 degrees. We are of the opinion that this twist was caused by an excessively violent application of the foot brake as the rear end is pulled round in a counter clock-wise direction (when looking at the rear end).

The tubular shaft appears to be twisted evenly throughout its length, it is bent a little, less than ⅛" in the worst place.

Further the shortening was not sufficient to break the aluminium cover at the rear end.

There is indication that the steel blocks at the rear end had seized on their pins at some time, and had to be hammered off, but were found to be oily.
