87460. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/ADL 3.10.31. R.R. PETROL PUMP The work we have done so far on the R.R. petrol pump has been directed to getting the required delivery for car operation with the minimum of delay as without these the twin carburetters were held up. For this reason a number of moves were made simultaneously and we shall now go back and found out exactly which alteration has given us positive results. We are also making the necessery tests re the position of the reservoir on the suction side. The curves of the R.R. pump delivery on Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}446 were taken with springs which were too weak and which would not have worked on the A.C. and for this reason it is an unfair comparison. We are immediately making a test of the air reservoir as mentioned on the 'phone today. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
