Re. Chassis B.138-JD.{J. Draper - Frames}

Replying to your Vr.{E. S. Voller - Orders}1/MG.23.1.37., the wiring diagram submitted would not be possible with our present lay-out on the Bentley chassis, in which we are careful to include a fuse in each head lamp circuit. The reason for these double fuses is to prevent a complete 'black-out' of the head lamps should a fault develop on the head lamp circuit.

With our standard arrangement of using these independent fuses, the switching arrangement asked for would be very complicated and would entail not only the use of a special foot switch, but also a special double pole switch for the steering column. In addition it would entail taking the stop lamp circuit from a different supply.

We attach herewith a wiring diagram showing our proposed method of achieving the switching required with our double fuse arrangement. Perhaps in view of the special nature of this chassis Mr.Cole would like to discuss the matter further with us, as the alterations required would be rather extensive and not such that we would recommend coachbuilders' electricians to carry out.
