X4617P EFC2/T. 6th February, 1926. c. to Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Mr. K.{Mr Kilner} Preston, Messrs. Peto & Radford, Dagenham Dock, Romford, Essex. Dear Mr. Preston, X4617P X465S I have your letter ref. KP/4 of the 2nd. inst. In view of our further recently changed point of view with regard to the batteries, I am prepared to agree that the advantage of the .6 mm. ebonite over the .4 mm. in one direction will be overdone by the disadvantages which we have in other directions. Therefore, I am agreeable to reverting to the .4 mm. ebonite, and also to your proposition of the adoption of the separators ribbed on both sides in place of the one side only, as is already the case in the 20 HP. P & R and in both Exide batteries. I am glad to hear that you have been able by these means to reduce the charging P.D. to 2.7 volts per cell at 12 amperes. Will that settle the matter so far as we can go at present, or can you make any further suggestions or propositions, as we would like very much to be able, if possible, to reduce the charging P.D. even lower than to a terminal P.D. of 16.2 on the battery. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
