COPY. Mr Bailey from P.H.R. Copies sent to: Mr Johnson Mr Wormald. Mr Madin. Re Light Back Axle. X137 A drawing has already been sent. This will make the central box naturally stronger by better lines as well as decrease of stress - internal spigotting will be less expensive. The torque tube is also shewn straight - I want this in one piece if convenient - but do not delay the work for this. Please see if the increase in diameter of the torque tube causes it to foul the cross member. In a forged central box the spigot will have to be abandoned, I think, and we must trust to fitting taper bolts and plenty of them in the joint. Can we not make a one piece torque tube if we fit each axle with a pinion setting device ? F.H.R. COPY. | ||
