Dear Mr. Seaholm,

I wrote to Olley a week ago to tell him that two of our engineers would be arriving in America about November 16th; perhaps he has passed this information on to you.

I am afraid we have almost come to regard Cadillacs as blood relations of Rolls-Royce Ltd., but our excuse is that you have always been so nice to us. I should be very grateful if you could let them discuss current problems with yourself and your staff.

You will have seen that on the new V-12 we have standardised the Cadillac hydraulically operated tappet. We are expecting to run into trouble with it in the hands of the public, though on experimental cars our worst fears have never been realised.

I do not know whether you ever went any further with the Girling brake system which I mentioned to you the last time I was in the States, but I have asked Grylls if he will give you full details of it and explain some of its defects and advantages. I have also asked him to run over with you the results of our 20,000 miles test on the Continent with the Cadillac V-16 car.
