Subject:. Composite Steel Brake Drum.

Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr Hives.

The enclosed re-print describes a brake drum, which we have developed as a result of the demand for increased brake efficiency, and which we find, after extensive tests, possesses the advantages claimed.

We attach a full specification of the drum, and should be pleased to show you a sample.

We should appreciate an opportunity of putting forward our pro-posal for a design to replace any of your existing drums, also to supply you with an experimental set. For this purpose we should be obliged if you would kindly let us have a drawing of your standard drum, with par-ticulars of any clearances between dust shields etc.

Yours faithfully,
For PRATT & MANLEY,
W.E. Baylis
