Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. For the attention of Mr. Swindall. 30th. October. 1937. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 28th referring to tappets produced in our "Monikrom" alloy. We would like to emphasize that this material has been developed essentially for camshafts, and we have no experience of its use for the particular service to which you propose putting it. We consider that the use of "Monikrom" for the purpose you suggest would be entirely misleading in considering camshaft performance, and apart from that we consider the material would be quite unsuitable for the part shown in your drawing No.E.87336. We therefore beg to be excused from meeting with your requirements in this instance. Yours faithfully, THE MIDLAND MOTOR CYLINDER CO.LTD., (Signature) (E.C. Toghill.) TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT. | ||
