1021 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/ML. 12.4.40. C.W.Ward,Esq., Messrs Park Wards Ltd., 473, High Rd, Willesden. N.W.10. Dear Ward, Payment for Experimental Bodies. We note that you are asking for some payment on account on Experimental bodies 31.G.7. and E-R-2. As our Experimental expenditure is very closely controlled at present we must as you in the future to be good enough to put a cost figure against the various items enumerated in your invoices so that we can ascertain the cost of the various modifications to the original instructions, etc., 31.G.7. We cannot understand why this body should be relatively so much more expensive than previous bodies of the same type. If it was in wood and aluminium it should be £711 approximately. Adding £100 for all steel construction leaves £142-18-7d. unaccounted for. All we appear to have got for this money is changing to left-hand drive and changing the wind screen wiper. We will discuss details of this with you next time we meet. Yours sincerely, | ||
