Re Breather Pipe from Crankcase to Hot Air Pipe.

A car which was recently overhauled was returned to us with a complaint of excessive smell/fumes from the Engine.

This smell we found to be the worst we have ever known, and was undoubtedly aggravated by badly fitting floor boards.

Fitting the breather pipe and stopping the gaps in the floor boards made the car satisfactory.

The greater improvement was obtained by the breather pipe, and we are of the opinion that it is very desirable to get it put on to cars as soon as possible.

We thought it might be possible to improve the method of fitting the pipe to the Crankcase, and would suggest a union be screwed into the Crankcase to which the pipe could be attached and easily detached if necessary.

It would be interesting to know whether this scheme will help to lubricate the valve stems.
