"SS{S. Smith}" AXLE CONTROL. X7420

It was desired to lubricate the ball end on the axle control of "SS{S. Smith}" from the axle in order to simplify the damper.

We have indicated on N. sch. 2663. (herewith) how this might be done.

If the spring loaded ball end should ever be introduced on Phantom, as we hope will be the case, it may be lubricated either in this way, or we might prefer to retain the existing lubrication from along the damper lever.

The experiments which are now in progress will help to decide this.
