No doubt the 40" springs will be a great help to the control of this front axle against the brake torque, but if it is not thought necessary to use the radius rods, then it is doubtful if we are forced to use the rear control, so that the present front horn and rear shackles could be used, or tried.

We should like to use shackles better protected from the road dirt, or rubber shackles, and this may have some effect on the decision, but I am sure the matter is so very urgent that we ought not to do more than is necessary.

Could not the front brakes be tried on a present chassis to show how bad it would be without improvements?
