Dear Sirs,

We are pleased to inform you that after much experimental work covering a period of at least two years research, we are now producing in these Works "Asbestosteel" Jointing, as per sample enclosed, which we are sure you will at once see is superior in quality to any previous English product.

As you may possibly be aware, a product of similar construction was introduced on the American market a few years ago, and has proved such an outstanding success for High Pressure Joints, Cylinder Head Gaskets, Manifold and Exhaust Joints, Valve Cover Joints, etc., that it is rapidly eliminating copper and asbestos joints from American car production, and ordinary high pressure jointing from engineering work generally.

With this factor in mind we determined that we would produce in this country a jointing at least equal to the American product. The task has not been easy, but after many months of continued experiments we are more than satisfied with the results.

As an interesting study for your Technical Staff we give you below specification of the American product which we were asked to substitute and the result of laboratory tests recently carried out on "Asbestosteel" by one of the world's largest car producers.
The specification requirements and the Laboratory test results are set out side by side for easy comparison:
