STAMP: EXPERIMENTAL

X. 4384 "GOSHAWK" 11. R.R. DESIGN OF STARTER MOTOR.
SECTION 8000 - L.O.P. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 50616.

The above Armature is at present one with No. 14 S.W.G. (.080) D.C.C. Copper Wire(see Coil Drawing D.50326).

EFC finds on test that the resistance of the Armature is on the high side and we wish to reduce this.

Will RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} kindly arrange to have one or two Armatures wound with D.C.C. Copper Wire of a gauge half way between 14 and 13 S.W.G. say .085 or .086 diameter, the coils can still be formed to D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 50326. An existing unwound Armature can be wound with the new wire. For these one or two experimental models we do not consider that the slots require to be enlarged.

We understand that the G.O. do not anticipate much difficulty in obtaining this half gauge wire, will they therefore kindly order the following.

3 lbs D.C.C. Copper Wire .085 or .086 dia.
