1113 Lillie Hall to W. RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} IMW{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}1/L/23.11.36. Re: GLG 5. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s 30 H.P. Car. - - - - - - - - I tried the above car as instructed by GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} It ran perfectly up to 40-43 m.p.h. at which speed spitting and misfiring occurred and was so bad that 50 m.p.h. could not be exceeded. At 40-43 m.p.h. the car ran evenly on light throttle but misfired immediately full throttle was given, and ran evenly again on easing off. The carburetter was then dismantled and the main and by-pass jets cleaned and the passages blown out with compressed air. This made no difference, and the trouble was the same as before. A new set of K.L.G. Kl - HR2 plugs, as supplied for 25 h.p. cars was then fitted. The trouble disappeared at once and normal performance restored. The plugs removed have been returned for your inspection. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} Frank. Walker. | ||
