40/50 HP. CHASSIS. N.2 SERIES RADIATOR TUBES.

Referring to ROY {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} /Ms2/F.11.9.30. which was the result of the Experimental Department asking us to hold up delivery of radiator tubes, with the object of making a change, we find that the best we can do under the circumstances is as follows :-

1/- (a) We will have to accept delivery of the 23,600 'D' tubes E.79449.

(b) We must also accept delivery of the 525,000 round tubes, 6 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m. diameter, to E.79448.

2/- With reference to the 475,000 tubes which are in such a position that they could make E.79321 from same, we would like you to enquire whether it is possible to make 6 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m square tubes with a slight decrease in thickness from these.

3/- In regard to the 654,000 tubes which have not been started upon, instruction for these should be definitely held up as R. {Sir Henry Royce} is anxious to go to a square tube radiator as soon as possible.

4/- The proposal to alter the American tubes to the 5 1/2 / 7 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m. size of tube has not been concurred in with R. {Sir Henry Royce} , and for the present we should hold up, as I am going into the matter and will let you have instructions in regard to same in the course of a week or so.
