EXCELSIOR 'AFA' SHOCK ABSORBERS
FITTED TO SIR HENRY SEGRAVE'S CAR.

We send you herewith N.Schemes 3048 and 3049 shewing these shock dampers fitted to the above car as requested.

We understand this car will have stiffer springs than standard, an advantage has been taken of this to get these shock dampers in which are not long enough to allow of the standard movement of the rear springs. The room available is also restricted unless we should modify the petrol tank.

We have also assumed that the tabs on the control disc can be conveniently cut off as in any case they appear to be rather inaccessible, but we suggest that when the shock dampers are received it may be found possible to move these tabs round into a position where, though inaccessible with these springs deflected in either direction, they are just accessible in the unloaded position of the spring.

As this is for a particular car ther may be room enough already by the tolerances going the right way.

We also attach the Excelsior drawings and information in case Derby have not copies.
