35-EX. PHANTOM III.

Running was terminated by the sticking open of A.6 Exhaust valve. Both cylinder heads have been removed and all valves examined. The condition of the exhaust valves is such that in view of the experimental nature of the cylinder heads, we think it advisable not to refit them, but let you have them for examination. We have therefore, telegraphed for new exhaust valves, on receipt of which we will send you the old ones. Their mileage in France is 8.662. Loss of clearance recorded is :-

A.3 .012" A.7 .006" A.II .005"

No loss of clearance has been noted on any of the other valves.
