We think the danger of fire pointed out by Mr. Olley in his OY2/G28.6.21, is a real danger. We have never known a fire take place due to the operation of the switch, but we have had instances of fire when the wire has been takken off the switch or broken and dropped on to the crankcase. The wire drops on a portion of the crankcase which catches any petrol which drops from the carburetter. We agree that the safest place for the switch is at the top of the steering column.
