HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X104 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/M29.6.32. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} re. BODIES. X.4027 X.5830 (1) PEREGRINE II. We anticipate that this body may foul the chassis in several places because we were never able to get accurate information about some of the features of the chassis before the body was framed and panelled. In this connection we mention that the scuttle will foul the side wheel carrier, and it will need to be cut to suit by Derby. We hope to hear from you in a day or so that you are about to mount the body so that if necessary the writer can come to the Works. We suggest that the instruments for the car should be the same as 25HP., and not like those being designed for Bensport in order to conform to SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s ruling. We have supplied a board and its fixings for you to fit the patch of instruments, and cut the board to shape. (2) J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} III. This body should fit the chassis as it was built on the same jig as that for 1-J.3. Again the instrument board is left uncut, but fitted, as we have no instructions as to what instruments you will use on the L.H. car. We would like to use the 25HP. framed patch, and put the switch on the L.H. side of the column, so preserving the new grouped patch being designed for Bensport only, especially as we gather that the L.H. J.3. is not likely to be needed for production, and is only being produced as a disguise for the car during the testing period. We have catered for a single spare wheel on the driver's side, and the filler for the petrol tank on the passenger's side. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
