S/W. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [Handwritten in red]: 261 Re:- W. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Nimmo, Esq., The above owner of a 3½-litre Bentley Open Sports is contemplating the purchase of a new 4¼-litre providing we can give him something special in the way of performance. He asks for a car similar to Hall's, but we have told him this is impossible, and we feel if we could attract him by something special we should get the order. Have you got a high compression head that you could fit to a 4¼-litre Bentley provided that he supplies special fuel for it and does not mind this inconvenience; if so, then I will get the Administration's sanction to supply this.
