January 15th, 1932.

Messrs.Rolls Royce, Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of I.Leslie, Esq.

In reply to your letter of yesterday's date, we have carefully noted your remarks concerning the tank unit for your tank to Drawing No.F.58208.

We are arranging to bend the float arm so as to miss the centre tube of the petrol tank, as you request. We should, however, like to take this opportunity of pointing out that two sharp bends will be required, which we would normally prefer to omit.

Incidentally, we note you refer to this as your 18 gallon tank; we have carefully calibrated this and find that when full it actually holds 19 1/2 gallons. The general arrangement of the tank unit we are now preparing will be shown on Drawing Ex.Y.6551, a blue print of which we anticipate being able to despatch to you to-morrow. We presume that you require the meter to be calibrated, and are arranging for this to be done.

Every effort will be made to get this gauge and tank to you by Wednesday next. You will appreciate, however, that we have had to start afresh on receipt of your letter, as we had already commenced work on the previous design.

Yours faithfully,
For S.SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED.
