X.2512 RE DUBILIER CONDENSERS.

We have now completed a 14 days continuous test of a Dubilier Condenser, also a Rolls Royce Condenser, under precisely similar conditions, and exactly as happened in the case of he resonance test they appear to be of the same characteristics as R.R. Condensers.

In view of the fact that we cannot break down these Condensers now under normal testing, we should go ahead and use these on chassis production under the following conditions:-

(a) Dubilier Condensers for the present to be fitted on production chassis in the Works.

(b) Mr Brock, for the present, to supply the Test Department, for urgency work, such as despatch, R.R. Condensers.

Mr Brock is in agreement with myself that the Dubilier Company are doing all they possibly can and are working even under better conditions than we are ourselves, since they have more chance of cleanliness, and secondly, test each mica plate under high voltage. The results of tests, now that they are passing the Faraday House test, certainly prove, so far as I can judge, that they are as reliable as our own product. In any case, if this assumption is wrong, we shall find this out in the near future, but at the moment we certainly cannot find any weak points, either in their method of production, or in the running of the Condensers.

In this connection I might add that Mr Brock has been to the Dubilier Company's Works, and tells me that they are really turning out an excellent job along exactly similar lines to ourselves.
