CATLIN SHALE PRODUCTS COMPANY.

BJ/Py5/D7.7.24

As a result of enquiries I have made, I find that the position with regard to the above, is as follows:-

We have no experience of shale oil for use on R.R. cars, or knowledge of any test such as referred to by Mr. Ruhm. We believe that Shale oils are not used to any great extent in this country for automobile lubrication, though we believe tests have been made, and we understand that the results do not indicate that the reliability is as great as that obtained by the oils we recommend for use.
