To EFC. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 31st December, 1918. E2/G311218. X.3362 RE LIGHTING INSTALLATION AT WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. STAMP: D 1 JAN 1919 RECEIVED Regarding your memo EFC1/T131218, would you kindly note that we have been awaiting your proposals for the main switchboard, as mentioned in E1/G181118. It was desired to know what you could offer us which would tally as near as possible to the requirements set out in memo E1/l111118, which gives Mr. Royce's description verbatim of the apparatus he requires. Our memos E1/l111118 and E1/G181118 superseded my suggestion to make sketches, as Mr. Royce did not approve of doing any drawing work on this job here. Can you not send a scheme to full scale shewing the main switchboard made up with the apparatus you are able to buy as nearly as possible to our requirements? This is the only way that I can see of shewing to Mr. Royce what can be done. You will note from our memo E1/G181118, that we approved of the sample miniature switch (incidentally Mr.Royce would prefer these switches to have a black oxydised finish similar to the Weston instruments) There is therefore no reason for not going ahead with some form of distributor board on which these miniature switches can be mounted. Perhaps it would be advisable to make at once a full scale drawing illustrating this distributor board, together with any mounting for fuses which you are able to get, and which you think will be suitable. I expect to see Mr. Royce to-day about this matter (Contd.) | ||
