-2- pleased if you will confirm whether this condition is correct or otherwise. Re the centre point lubrication system. We shall incorporate the following remarks in our 5,000 miles Report, but as this will be some days before it is finished, we are sending you the information that we have obtained. We have thoroughly examined the lubrication on the front axle. There is ample lubrication to the pivot pins, brake toggle shafts, and cross steering tube ball ends. We might mention, although it is not the fault of the centre point lubrication, that the front side steering tube ball end is not receiving as much oil as we should like. It is not starved, but we should like to see more ample lubrication. The tube which is fastened on the near side front road spring supplying the oil, does not show any sign of having been chafed. So far we cannot find anything to criticize. Re the supply to the rear axle. The tubing from the spring shackle along the spring to the rear axle as far as we can see shows no sign of any failure or chafing. The supply of oil to the brake mechanism appears to be O.K. We have not had the whole of the shafts out to examine the lubrication, but the one that we did take out was evenly lubricated at the bearings. We have not therefore any faults to find at this stage with the centre point lubrication system. G.W.H. | ||
