Further to our memo. on this unit (Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/JH.20.4.36) the locking of external water, oil and petrol pipe nuts to be carried out as in Aero practice; the nuts drilled at the corners and locked by wire. Crankcase sump drain plug to have locking plate fitted. Bottom tappet and valve springs not to be enamelled. Oil pump securing studs to be fitted with castellated nuts and split pinned. Any bolts running through section into inside of the unit should have the nuts rivetted. Dynamo pinion brake blocks to be deleted. Crankshaft oil pressure test to be carried out with Castrol X.X.L. not Motorine C., as all running will be done on Castrol. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.Swindall. | ||
