Mr Royce 21.8.12. Cone Clutch. (tests of steel clutch rings). TBB3/L21812. X357 Mr Platford reports that one of these clutch rings has run for 2500 miles, including a considerable amount of hill climbing. A number of other steel clutch rings have also been tested on experimental cars and they have all given every satisfaction. In consequence of this report I have confirmed to the Order Office the use of these steel clutch rings for standard. You will remember that we decided to test some clutch rings made from steel in order to see if the cotton fabric behaved in any different manner, before actually fitting these rings to standard cars. | ||
