Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL Hsl/LG1.6.23. GOSHAWK 11, PROPELLER SHAFT. X4254 X4255 The most frequent cause of oil being flung out from the Universal Joint is that an excess amount of oil is forced into the joint. It is very difficult to avoid this as there is no means of telling how much oil there is in the joint and it is very essential that those joints should be kept well lubricated. We have recently fixed a special type of Enots Lubricator on to these joints because it was found that the ordinary ball joint on the standard lubricator was not necessarily tight so that the oil was allowed to be flung out of the lubricator when the joint was revolving at high speeds. We cannot think that it would be a very difficult job to prevent the oil reaching the carpets. The modified rear axle which we have, does not leak oil. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
