Sept. 10th. 1914. X849 REPORT ON BRACKET - F.4932 - FOR CARRYING THE FORWARD ENDS OF THE REAR SPRINGS. -------------------- This bracket is an improvement on the bracket - F.4273. The base has been spread out and the edges bevelled off, so as not to make an abrupt change of section where it joins the frame. There is also an angle piece fitted inside the frame channel, to stiffen it at the point where the bracket is fixed. The whole makes a good neat job, and has run on the bumping test - 1 hour - with 3" bumps and 30 hours with 2" bumps. This is not a severe test, but I feel quite safe in recommending it, as the old bracket - F.4273 stood a severe test, and this bracket - F.4932 - is obviously of better design. I hear that standardisation is already being effected. | ||
