W.A. Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Robotham, Thank you for yours of the 8th instant, which I am answering after just having left S.G. at lunch. He told me a bit about the fast Bentley which was described in the "Autocar" this week. The figures that you give are certainly astonishing, especially the petrol consumption and you must have done a pretty good job and from your fourth paragraph it strikes me that you will be able to improve on this car before so very long. Phil Paddon rang me up about the "Autocar" description and he said that everything is marvellous except the Chryslerish appearance which he says revolts him, with which I agree although I suppose it is necessary to get the last little bit. I had no further talk with S.G. about elephants and I think it is up to you now to find out whether any fruit has been borne. I do not think I can do any more at the moment but I would like to hear from you as to how you find the position. I do hope you will give me a ring the next time you are down for the night and we can certainly foregather. Yours sincerely, GR{George Ratcliffe} Minchin | ||
