LOSS OF WATER FROM RADIATORS.

Tests were carried out to determine what restriction could be put in the outlet pipe from the cylinder block without impairing the cooling efficiency of the system.

Tests were carried out both at high speeds on the level and hill climbing. The results shewed that the water pipe could be reduced to an area of 23 .125 holes without any loss of efficiency. 20 holes of the same size were on the border line of trouble. With 15 1/8 holes the cooling efficiency was definately impaired.

A practical means of fitting this to the car was to make the outlet holes in E73444 of the following dimensions:-

.250
.650

The road tests were carried out on 13-EX chassis and are recorded in the log book.
