Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X8410 Hsl/LG19.8.24. RE. NIP IN ROAD SPRINGS. X.8410 X.2628 We attach herewith two charts showing the amount of friction measured on the road springs which were on 46-PK car - EAC.11. open touring . We also attach a sheet giving the amount of nip between the leaves. We have taken several other springs apart and find that the total amount of nip is approx. the same. On the average there is very little nip except between the 1st. & 2nd., and the 2nd. & 3rd. plates. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
