Experimental Department 8th July 1937. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.12/AP. 1280 Messrs John Marston Ltd. WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr.Smith. Dear Sirs, Will you please send us by return if possible, any detail drawings which you may have of the Bentley dummy shutter set (including latest type stiffener) which you have made for us, so that we can make our lay-out drawings prior to standardising your shutter set for Production. We are returning to you the Bentley radiator fitted with dummy shutters to have the improved stiffener fitted ( as agreed when the writer visited your works on Friday last) - we would stress the fact that we want this radiator back at the earliest possible moment. We are still awaiting the quotations which you agreed to forward us for our matrix to EW.1161 with side plates to EW.1178 - meanwhile we are today sending you an official order for three matrices to these drawings, one in .006" and .004" strip, both tinned, the other two in .005" and .003" strip, both tinned. Will you please mark these distinctly so that we can tell which is which and let us have them as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
