EFC. X7655. BY/RD11/N.25.6.29. SS.{S. Smith} Chassis Automatic Switch. ------------------------- With reference to the specification of adjustments issued under EFC4/AD.12.6.29, and headed "Version J", we have now been carefully through this and whilst the gaps are in agreement with our drawing D.72232, we are not altogether clear as to what is intended by the various limits attached to these gaps. So far as I can see the only limits required are those on the basic gaps, and if we are going to maintain the figure of .012 - 2 on the armature stops then the remainder of the limits must be proportionate to this minus 2. It seems therefore that the limits given on the other figures serve no useful purpose, and in fact the gaps themselves are not really necessary for the correct erection of the switch, if the basic gaps are set right in the first instance the remainder must be right proportionally. Before we add any limits to our drawing we await your reply, in the meantime we have instructed the Works to work to the .012 - 2 limit on the armature stop. Replied to verbally BY/RD. | ||
