Wraith III Steering -
Modified Steering Ball Joints, Secs: 7070, 7041
Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}20/JH.5.5.37.
We have investigated the difference in cost of the modified Steering Ball Joints as shown on drawings Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}337, 338 and 339.
In the case of the modified cross steering ball joints as shown on Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}337 on comparison with the old Scheme to N.Scheme 4849, this modification shows an estimated saving in factory cost of approximately 6d. per chassis.
The modifications Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}338 and 339 which show the new scheme for the Side Steering tube ball joints on comparison with the previous scheme, (N.Scheme 4791) shows an estimated saving in factory cost, of approximately 4/6d. per chassis.
