X6006 WOF C- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY10/W.16-4-31. Re :- "Phantom II" Dynamos. In order to obtain more output from the "Phantom II" Dynamo a slight modification to the Poles is necessary, and we have demonstrated that this can easily be done many times for special customers. We now propose that for the remaining 35 chassis of "M2" Series each Dynamo shall be altered to give this higher output. The following is what will have to be done to obtain this result :- The Dynamo must be dismantled from the chassis and itself dismantled. The Poles will then have to be re-bored to our Drawing D.72794, the machine re-assembled, tested and fitted to the chassis. We have in fact got sufficient Poles already machined ex Left Hand chassis, which could be immediately utilized. The improvement in output at 28 m.p.h. over the standard Dynamo is 3 amperes, and this is maintained up to 70 m.p.h. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} [Stamp] RECEIVED 17 APR 1931 | ||
