To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Hor. X3035. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}l/KT.13.5.31. OIL FOR THE "R" ENGINE. X.1282. X.3035. Will you please ensure that an adequate reserve of oil is kept in the Works for R.{Sir Henry Royce} engine testing. The position is that we drew the last of the oil from the Stores on April 27th, and we find today that we have an engine ready for an endurance run without any oil being in the Works. We warned the Stores that they should always keep a reserve of three barrels but apparently they did not inform you that they were out until the 5th. of this month.
