As far as I am aware the 3" deeper (taller) radiator would be much overdoing it, and would not be much use without a bigger fan.

I am not sure that a bigger fan is possible.

I should suggest a larger fan if it were possible. This is a better way of meeting the trouble than a high speed fan or bigger radiator, but we have no 40/50 car here at present and it is difficult for us to say.

I should not have thought the higher compression would have been favourable for keeping the water cooler, in fact, I should have thought it would have been the other way about namely, it would decrease the temperature of the water but decrease the temperature of the exhaust gases and box.
